Welcome to NPT Region III's Law Enforcement Program

Maine, like other states in the U.S., maintains a set of criminal justice standards to ensure the fair and effective administration of law enforcement. The topics covered, officer training, ethical conduct, firearms safety, responding to an active shooter, and operational procedures. 

Throughout the program, you will have the chance to work with industry-standard equipment, including crime scene photography gear, evidence collection kits, and forensic laboratory instruments. You will learn to dust for and lift fingerprints, analyze blood splatter patterns, and examine trace evidence using microscopes.  

This program is designed to provide you with a solid foundation for a future career in law enforcement or forensic science, equipping you with the knowledge, skills, and practical experience needed to make a difference in your community and beyond. 

In your first year you will dive into the fundamentals of Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice, learning about police procedures, legal systems, and crime prevention. As you progress to your second year, you will focus on the fascinating field of Forensic Science, where you will discover how scientific methods are used to solve crimes. From fingerprint analysis to DNA testing, you will gain practical skills that real investigators use every day. This program is designed to give you a comprehensive understanding of the criminal justice system and prepare you for potential careers in law enforcement or further studies in related fields.
