Welcome to NPT Region III's Medical Administrative Specialist (MAS) and Medical Office Technology (MOT)
MAS: this program is a two-year, 160-hour externship with National certification exam prior to graduating from high school. The students will demonstrate competence in clerical areas of the medical office performing patient registration, electronic medical records, insurance processing, billing and coding, practice finances, and fundamental office management tasks.
MOT: this program is a one- year certification of completion course designed for students who wish to explore the clerical side of the medical field without clinical content.
Hands-On Training
MAS students will do a 160 -hour externship in a medical office setting prior to sitting for National certification.
MOT students will have exposure to job shadows at a local hospital, dental/medical office. Students would be able to apply for medical jobs as a PSR "patient service representative".

Industry-Relevant Curriculum
MAS: This course offers 9 college credits in Medical Terminology 1 & 2, and Medical Office Procedures.
MOT: This program offers 12 college credits in Medical Terminology 1&11, Document Processing, and Health Unit Coordinator (with option to sit for National HUC certification).
